Description:
More Room to Perch and Play? is a research-based artwork that reveals the stocking density of farms in Sainsbury's supply chain, showing 32 chickens at 1:1 scale within 2.16m² — the area of the poster itself. Stocking density was drawn from Sainsbury's own press releases and animal welfare accreditation schemes. This was one of Adfree Cities' most-viewed posts.
Design:
The font, layout and colours are drawn from the original Sainsbury’s advert, as a convincing subvertising design relies on the viewer momentarily believing that the advert is real. The chickens in our alternative ad are the same breed that are grown for Sainsbury’s poultry supply chains.
